Tracking CAPA Parts
|
What is the CAPA TRACKER Program?
|
- The CAPA TRACKER program enables identification of
vehicles, at the consumer or policy holder level, on which
CAPA certified parts are used.
- This process will enable CAPA to inform repairers and
insurers, via an internet based tracking system, which
consumer or policy holder vehicles the part was used on
in the event of a potential safety concern.
- The CAPA TRACKER program can provide quantitative data
on when and where CAPA parts are actually used.
|
How does it work?
|
- The unique CAPA seal number, insurer name and repair
facility's repair order number are input into the CAPA
TRACKER database by the repairer using a repairer's unique
"shop code". This can be easily done thru the CAPA web
site or by faxing a paper form.
- CAPA links the data to a myriad of information about
that part using the unique CAPA seal number.
- In the event of a part problem, the database can identify
all reported instances of the use of that part, matching
the seal number to the applicable repair orders and repairers.
- Using the registered information CAPA can immediately
notify any repairers who used the part or any insurers
who requested usage of the part.
- The database can also provide proprietary management
reports for participating collision repair facilities
and insurers.
